Eden’s Lakes Challenge & Prize

In April 2005 we introduced two catfish in to our North Lake. The Cats were stocked at weights of 45lb & 30lb. At present neither of them has been landed. They have been hooked but have either snapped the end tackle, straightened hooks or just flattened the mackerel hook bait. One of the has even towed an angler around the lake on our boat!
 
We now expect at least one of these catfish to be in excess of 70lb.
 
So the challenge is the first person to catch & land one of these catfish on the bank & have your picture with it, will get a free weeks drive & survive holiday for 2009.
The Bailiff will need to witness the capture.

Eden's Lakes had the pleasure of welcoming Pete Castle to fish our venue. Read all about it in Pete Castle's diary section in the November issue of Advanced Carp Fishing.

We have now added, down at the Jolly Pad lake, a small 4 berth caravan for the Anglers to use.
The small 4 berth caravan has the following facilities: Awning on the front, Chemical toilet, Double gas rings & grill, Kettle, Cooking & eating utensils, Table & chairs & small Fridge. See the pictures on our Gallery under April 2006.

MORE STOCK ADDED!

MORE carp were added to the North Lake on 25th April 2005 ranging from the mid 20lbs to the mid 40lbs. Also added to the North Lake were two very nice Cats to 45lbs & a couple of beautiful looking Grass carp to 25lbs. The Jolly Pad Lake was stocked with over 1 tonne of Carp up to the upper 40lbs adding to the existing stock and is NOW OPEN for anglers.

All the fish stocked are virgin and have never been caught before.

We entertained our first set of 4 anglers on the 30th April for the week...& what a week it was...within the first 24hrs over 600lbs of Carp were caught. Included in this, were seven 30lb+ carp. By the middle of the week over 1500lbs of carp have been caught with a further three 30lbs+, and a stunning 44lbs 2oz mirror Carp! By the end of their trip the anglers had caught in total 2651lbs of carp 11 30lbs + carp and two 40lbs+ carp with the biggest at 44lbs 2oz.

90% of these carp took the anglers over 10mins to land, as these virgin carp put up one hell of a fight. 

By the way...apart from one angler (on the first night) none of the anglers fished for the whole night...sometimes reeling in at 11pm, but most of the time the anglers reeled in to make their dinner at around 8pm and didn't cast out again until morning...madness!!!

Along with the great fishing...which has surpassed even our expectations...the anglers have been very grateful for the hydro-massage shower provided, along with all the other facilities that they weren't expecting...the 'Welcome bar-be-que.' complimentary tea, coffee, sugar & milk and all the cooking equipment they could need...including unlimited use of the gas bar-be-que...lovely for breakfast!!

The only complaint we have had is of aching muscles from reeling in so many fighting carp!!!
