Angler: Ronny De Vries
Weight: 51lb
Lake: North Lake
|

All 3 lakes are sourced by streams and underground springs. The North Lake, Jolly Pad Lake & Simon's Lake were all constructed in 1994. The North Lake is now an impressive 5 acres. Simon's Lakes is just over 5 acres & The Jolly Pad Lake is 3 acres. Up until now they have been used as stocking lakes for a variety of fish, such as Pike, Zander, Silver fish, Tench and Carp. A lot of these have now been removed to create space for the large Carp.
All the Lake depths and areas to watch out for, can be seen below in the lake diagrams, along with some of the pictures of the lakes.
The bottoms of all the lakes are made up of hard clay and soft clay. At present we are carrying out a planting project, adding reeds and lily pads to the lakes, and trees and bushes to the grassy banks.

North Lake

|
 |
The North Lake is an impressive 5 acres in size.
Set in rural countryside, surrounded and lined with Oak, Hornbeam, Willow and Ash trees with plenty of young bushes in between enables the lake to be very well sheltered giving you total seclusion with no traffic noise or pollution.
All the swims on the North Lake give the angler a multitude of options. The margins, which are lined with Bull Rushes and Flag Iris, gently slope down from 2 to 8ft - a lot of fish have been caught from the margins. As this is proven to be a highly productive area it shouldn’t be ignored. The lake bed has varying depths and is made up of a mix of hard & soft clay and plenty of features, all of which are ideal target areas for catching the impressive Carp that inhabit this lake, The features include gravel bars, a sunken tree stump, two medium sized sunken branches, some limestone boulders and a gully running the whole length of the lake from inlet to outlet. There is also a large basin that goes down to over 10ft, so spending a little time with a marker rod can be very rewarding. The lake has 8 swims available with 3 of them being doubles, so there is plenty of room to move around the lake, all the swims are very generous in size and can accommodate the largest of bivvies with ease. |

The Jolly Pad Lake

|
 |
Jolly Pad Lake is 3 acres in size, though the smallest on the fishery it is no less impressive than the others.
The lake’s transformation from fish farm to fishery is mesmerizing, we have undertaken a massive re-planting programme of tree’s on The Jolly Pad which has seen the likes of Oaks, Willows, Hornbeam and Ash flourish, and to further compliment the surroundings of the lake, extra planting of bushes and lily pads has also been completed, with a little bit of time nature will further enhance its appeal.
With the fishing only being permitted on three sides, there are 3 purpose built swims and two cleared areas available to fish from on the lake, each offering the angler plenty of options; the margins are lined with Bull Rushes and Flag Iris and gently slope down from 3 to 8ft, the lakebed itself made up with hard & soft clay. Out towards the centre of the lake there is a large plateau and the fish can be seen crashing out over this. Again like the North Lake, there is an inlet and an outlet, the inlet is on the side where no fishing is permitted due to the height of the bank, this bank however is full of large Reeds & Rushes and has proved to be a very rewarding target area. There are also two areas of lily pads; these have been recently planted in order to provide shelter for the lake’s residents in the warmer months.

Simon's Lake

|
|
Simon’s Lake is 5 acres in size and has, up until now, been used as a stock lake. Due to high demand we have decided to open Simon’s Lake, and all seven Stock Lakes, on a “Fish & Discover” basis. This is an exciting opportunity for novice anglers and those wishing to introduce the joys of Carping to a friend or family member. This holiday would also be ideal for any coarse anglers wanting to get away from it all…or why not even organize a match?! As well as Carp, Simon’s Lake and the Stock Lakes also have very good size Roach, Rudd, Gudgeon, Pike and Zander…the biggest Roach caught to date is ½ lb.
Simon’s Lake and all seven Stock Lakes contain original stock. We have already had some anglers ‘dabbling’ with floating crust in the Stock Lakes. This has resulted in them catching some beautiful fish including…Grass Carp to 17lb, Mirror Carp and Commons to low doubles. We know that Simon’s Lake contains Mirrors and Commons to low doubles with some stunning Linear Carp put in earlier in the year from catches from the Stock Lakes. There is also Roach, Rudd, Gudgeon, Pike and Zander.
You will have free range of Simon’s Lake and all of the seven Stock Lakes…the largest of which is approximately ½ an acre! These Carp have been undisturbed for many years and have been fed on our pellets and maize and have been introduced to our boilies. This is also an exciting opportunity to experiment too, as all the stock have also been introduced to surface bait; which gives anglers the more unusual option of catching fish off the surface…unusual in French Carping anyway!
The Stock Lakes have never been netted and Simon’s Lake has lain undisturbed for years, so every fish caught will be a new Eden’s discovery! We know that there are some beautiful fish to be had and they have been fed well and have been completely un-pressured. Because we can’t guarantee carp of huge individual weights, we have decided to introduce this holiday at a price of 100€ each per week…that is approximately only £72.00!
This price is for Drive & Survive, but if you wish to fly we can offer our All-Inclusive package at a price of 400€ each. Our food package is also available separately if you wish to add comfort to your Drive & Survive! You can also choose to Exclusively Hire Simon’s Lake and all 7 Stock Lakes for 450€ on a Drive & Survive basis.

The’ Simon’s Lake & Stock Lakes’ offer is for 4 anglers on a Drive & Survive and All-Inclusive packages, and5 anglers on an Exclusive Hire basis.
We can’t wait to see what our next season will bring and are looking forward to sharing your discoveries…not only of our Lakes, but also of the Eden’s atmosphere and the tranquil countryside. This is truly an escape from the busy world…leave the noise and hum-drum behind, relax in peace, wind down and absorb the Eden everyone deserves.
Stock Lakes
The 7 Stock Lakes have been used to breed & grow fish stock for many years. They have been relatively undisturbed for years and the stock have been fed regularly on our pellets and maize and have been introduced to our boilies. We have decided to open the Stock Lakes, along with Simon’s Lake, on a “Fish & Discover basis.
